SteveO's Newsletter

September 2004, v2e4

Hi, Folks--

Like the changing of the leaves, sad kids at the bus stop, and the Jerry Lewis Telethon, along comes another sign of Fall, the third edition of the year of the stevenolson.com newsletter. For those like me who are allergic to cooling weather, here's some hot and spicy news straight from Marketing.

Technical
Prior to leaving for a vacation in Maine ("vacation in Maine" is neither misprint nor oxymoron), I cranked out a WinHelp project using RoboHelp for Word as the development environment for a new client. The product is Search and Recover 2, a recovery system for files, emails, and multimedia devices that is now available via the web. For more information, see iolo technologies.

Kidstuff
For my New York publisher (I love writing that), I am developing a children's title on the Homeland Security Act of 2002. Anyone interested in writing a concise summary of over 200 pages of legislation for nothing more than grammatically correct digital thanks?

Technical
The documentation project for Electronic Arts' worldbuilding tool was successfully deployed, and I have since begun another project for the tools group to document their character development application. The volume of data required to get James Bond running around and looking good on-screen is staggering. Fortunately, I only have to write about it.

Technical
During their busy season, EA's Writing Group called once again, and I finished off three user documentation projects on-time.

Anniversary
Last week, Margaret and I marked our first year of co-habitation, an experience that has been swift in passage, warm in spirit, and sponsored by IKEA. Happy Anniversary, sweetheart.

Legal
In the interests of privacy, feel free to unsubscribe to this newsletter.

I have hours available in October, so please feel free to inquire about any of your upcoming projects at stevenolson.com.

Cheers,
-SteveO
