Commissioned by a San Francisco consultancy, this case study documented the implementation of the Plumtree enterprise portal platform at Sycamore Networks, a fiber optic networking company. Sycamore Networks was growing so fast that only one interview was possible, yet only a couple of drafts were needed to deliver a case study that was satisfactory to all three parties.
When developing case studies for a consultancy, it's important to strike a balance between the viewpoints of software developer and client. Weaknesses in a product must be illuminated, yet the software developer deserves the opportunity to address them in the case study.
